Reactive boundary conditions for stochastic simulations of reaction-diffusion processes.
Many cellular and subcellular biological processes can be described in terms of diffusing and chemically reacting species (e.g. enzymes). Such reaction-diffusion processes can be mathematically modelled using either deterministic partial-differential equations or stochastic simulation algorithms. The latter provide a more detailed and precise picture, and several stochastic simulation algorithm...
متن کاملDiffusion at the liquid-vapor interface.
Recently, the intrinsic sampling method has been developed in order to obtain, from molecular simulations, the intrinsic structure of the liquid-vapor interface that is presupposed in the classical capillary wave theory. Our purpose here is to study dynamical processes at the liquid-vapor interface, since this method allows tracking down and analyzing the movement of surface molecules, thus pro...
متن کاملInterface Conditions for a Singular Reaction-diffusion System
For a chemical reaction/diffusion system, a very fast reaction A+ B → C implies non-coexistence of A, B with resulting interfaces. We try to understand how these interfaces evolve in time. In particular, we seek a characterizing system of equations and conditions for the sharp interface limit: when this fast reaction is taken as infinitely fast.
متن کاملReaction/Diffusion at Electrode/Solution Interfaces: The EC2 Reaction
A closed form analytical expression is derived for the normalized current versus potential response expected for a rotating disc electrode in which an initial fast electron transfer reaction is followed by a homogeneous electrochemical reaction which exhibits second order kinetics. The effect of the homogeneous reaction on the shape of the voltammetric response curve is calculated.
متن کاملDIFFUSION AND REACTION WITHIN A SHAPED NICKEL PEROVSKITE CATALYST
Abstract : In this study, we prepared a LaNi0.3Al0.7O3 perovskite catalyst using a sol-gel related method (with prop ionic acid as a solvent) for use in the methane dry reforming reaction to produce synthesis gas. We defined the catalyst structure on the basis of X-ray diffraction analysis and measurements of the specific surface area and particle size distribution. The mixed oxide structure ...
